My name is Roland Schafek, and I've been working as a freelance director and directing DP in Vienna. Over the past years, I've had the opportunity to be part of several remarkable projects covering a wide range of storytelling—from Bibiza music videos to sports and tourism films, as well as traditional commercials.
What consistently informs my approach to every project is my expertise and, above all, my passion for everything related to post-production. Whether it's classic editing, 2D After Effects, or 3D software, I'm not only proficient in various programs but, more importantly, able to integrate these tools into the shoot itself, ensuring a smooth workflow from production to post.
Since the "Rise of AI," I have been actively exploring the exciting new possibilities offered by emerging tools and technologies. However, it's essential for me to integrate these tools conceptually into my workflow rather than using them merely for their novelty.
In that spirit, I always welcome projects that challenge me and allow me to explore innovative and unique approaches to production. And that's me in a nutshell.
